POWDER PUFF DAY HITS THE JACK FOR MACMILLAN
The Bourne Royal British Legion Bowls Section raised a fantastic £510 for Macmillan Cancer Support at their annual ladies Powder Puff day on Saturday 8th August 2009. This beat their previous record of £433 in 2008.
A cheque was presented to Macmillan Cancer Support by the Bourne RBL Bowls Section President Mr Fred Collins, who this year celebrates sixty one years of bowling for the club, and our secretary Shirley Tilley. The presentation took place at 2:00 on 29th August 2009 during the club Finals Day.
Raffle tickets were on sale on the day and there were 92 raffle prizes in total so everyone was a winner! There was also a 100 squares sheet with a prize of a bottle of champagne with champagne flutes which continued during the week.
